Described as a “Next Generation Small Town” in the Washington DC Metropolitan area, the Town of Herndon is home to 23,000 residents. Herndon was incorporated in 1879 and they just launched their new Vision website.
While there were several goals for the project, ensuring the creation of a design that reflected the community as focused, open and caring was a top priority. The homepage features large, colorful buttons that guide visitors to the site’s top content. Two action-oriented menus (I Want To… and I Am…) make key information easy to find, even for those who are not familiar with the internal organizational structure of the town.
